Spring Haircut Trends For 2023

Spring is right around the corner! With the weather getting warmer, the flowers blooming, and the sun coming out to play, it’s time to usher in the new season with a fresh look!

There seems to be a resurgence of early 2000s, also called “Y2K”, looks that have been elevated into a more modern style.

Today we’ll look at the top spring haircut trends for 2023!

Trending Haircuts for Spring 2023

Top celebrity hair stylists predict that the haircut trend for 2023 will move from heavily layered styles to a softer, more textured look.

Styles that rapidly gained popularity in 2022 will remain prevalent throughout the year, such as animal-inspired cuts, such as the wolf cut, butterfly cut, and jellyfish cut, and “ABC” cuts, such as the “V” cut. However, the main difference is that we will shift from heavy layers to a softer, more textured look.

Here are three of the top trending haircuts for Spring 2023!

Chin Length Bobs

A dramatic chin-length bob might be perfect if you’re looking for a significant change!

This style is distinct, bold, and sophisticated! While it’s not a new style, it’s different from the sharp, blunt bobs we’ve seen. This modern bob is all about soft, textured ends highlighting your facial features while remaining bouncy and voluminous.

This blunt style is ideal for an oval, heart, or inverted triangular face shape. However, if you have a square, round, or heart-shaped face, opt for a longer bob that will visually lengthen your face.

To achieve the style, ask your stylist for a chin-length bob with lightweight, choppy layers to create interesting dimensions and texture.

“C” Cut

The C-shaped haircut is a throwback to 90s hair inspiration and is expected to grow in prevalence this spring as haircut trends shift to softer, lightweight, and layered looks.

Unlike the popular V-shaped haircut, where the ends come to a distinct V-shaped taper, the C-shaped cut features softer “U” shapes throughout the length of the hair and falls into softly rounded ends. As a result, it’s shorter in the front and longer in the back, visually elongating the hair to create fullness, movement, and thickness.

This haircut is great if you have thin hair and want it to appear thicker. It will work for all hair lengths and textures. This style visually elongates the face and is ideal for a square, round, or heart-shaped face.

To achieve this style, ask your stylists for a cut with soft, face-framing, rounded layers that are shorter in the front and longer in the back.

Midi Cut

If you’re worried about going too long or too short, the midi cut is the perfect middle ground! It’s a throwback to the 90s with a forgiving medium-length, wispy layers, and volume!

This cut is perfect if you want a change but aren’t ready to chop off a significant amount of length. It has a ton of movement and volume and will visually make your hair appear thicker!

This haircut works for all hair lengths and textures. In addition, it elongates the face, so it’s ideal to have a square, heart, or oval face shape.

Ask your stylist for a medium-length cut with wispy layers and volume to achieve this style!
